The exact location of Bahamut’s palace is unknown and is only referred to as being “beyond the East Wind.” Many think that this is a reference to the Elemental Plane of Air or Seven Heavens, others believe that it is located in a spinning whirlwind or vortex of no fixed location. It is thought by most, that Tiamat would not be strong enough to defeat Bahamut in this form if they ever duelled against each other.
Although he may be stronger in some of his non-dragon forms, when he takes the guise of The Platinum Dragon, his offensive powers are astounding. They fought as young siblings in their formative years but Bahamut has actively avoided combat since. Sages have, throughout history debated who is the stronger dragon. Io saw through the ruse and banished Tiamat.įor a long time, Tiamat wandered the Prime Material Plane seeding it with her evil dragon offspring and dark magic before Bahamut banished her to the Nine Hell’s where she resides to this day. Tiamat murdered their eldest brother, Vorel and tried to lay the blame at Bahamut’s feet. It is said that Io created Bahamut and Tiamat with the intention of them joining forces and becoming a unifying couple in which good and evil, law and chaos were balanced, but their personalities were too much at odds and they refused to co-operate. Bahamut is the child of the dragon god Io and twin sister to his nemesis, the evil dragon Tiamat. He is also served by former mortals who have been granted divine-like powers.
